summer right around the corner, many homeowners are thinking of
installing ceiling paddle fans.
Paddle
fans have made a big come back in the last 15 years. In 1985, I
installed two. In 1999, I installed over sixty fans.
When
installing a fan today,
which
of the choices below is true.
A) New codes now make the installer send in a certificate to verify a qualified person installed the fan. This is for insurance purposes.
B) Todays fans have fail safe blade attachments to assure the blades will not come off when operating.
C) The new codes makes us install a box rated for a ceiling fan.
D) Ceiling paddle fans can not be installed outside on a covered porch.
E) New codes make it mandatory for the installer of a fan to install a special wiring harnesses in case the fan starts to spin (unscrew) and fall from the ceiling.
