A Brief History of Our Company Stewart Electric is an electrical contracting company in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. Stewart Electric was founded in 1955 by Yale Stewart. In 1972, Yale was succeeded by Stan Stewart. Stan operated the business from 1972 until 1987. I continued the proud tradition of Stewart Electric from 1987 till the present time. My name is Bruce Stewart. I am a third generation electrician. Yale established the electrical contracting firm in the new home - residential market. Most of the work was done on the south side of Indianapolis and in the northern area of Johnson county. With my father Stan as the owner, the business grew to include new construction, remodeling, additions and repairs in both residential and commercial. In 1986 I, Bruce Stewart, took over the business due to my fathers passing.
In
1987, I applied, tested for and received an electrical license We have always been located in the Indianapolis area. Today, most of our projects are on the north side of Indianapolis, Zionsville, Whitestown, Carmel and Fishers. The majority of our projects today are residential remodeling and additions.
